The town of Santa Engràcia is at more than 1000 meters of height. It is located at 11 kilometers of Tremp, in the top of a cliff that isolates the town by the sides of the South and North-East. The town of Santa Engràcia has its origin in its castle, of which there are very few rests.
The year 1553 there were 7 houses and 35 inhabitants in the town. In the middle of the XIX Century there were 23 houses: 16 at the top of the town and 7 more forming a suburb. In the year 1981 there were 9 inhabitants, and there are actually 24.
In the summit, in the known place as “Petjades del Diable”, or known before as “Potades del diable” (some marks in the same rock) there are the rests of an old watchtower and the castle.
